In the U.S., there are more than 1.2 million inpatient stays each year for serious mental illness (SMI). Yet tobacco cessation treatment for SMI smokers is lacking and the vast majority of patients relapse after hospital discharge. This ongoing study tailors EX to meet the needs of SMI smokers to help them stay quit after a psychiatric hospitalization.
